Courage - Day 22

It feels great when you start something by yourself, and soon, others come along beside you, joining in and affirming that you’re doing the right thing. But sometimes, you’re the only one God needs. Like Queen Esther. She is the epitome of being the one God needs. She ‘happened’ to be in the right place at the right time to prevent a slaughter of the Jewish people. When a decree was put in place to destroy all the Jewish people for their refusal to bow down to the king’s favorite noble, Esther had not yet been revealed as being a Jew herself. But her cousin Mordecai encouraged her to speak out to the king, despite the risk to herself.

If you’ve read the book of Esther before, you know that she did speak out, she find favor with the king, and she did put an end to the plot to kill all the Jews. She was the one God needed, and she courageously did what He led her to do.

This has got to be the hardest type of situation to handle. What if you are the only one who stands up for a particular belief, or the only one who protests something wrong? What if you are the only one playing during the middle of a concert? Well, you may have a solo. Just as a composer may write a solo in the middle of a symphony, God may have designed you for one particular moment, to be the only one He needs for one particular moment in history.

Take heart, be courageous, and stand firm in your relationship with God. He may have written a solo just for you.

And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?
Esther 4:14b
